We started by designing a logo for CaNeBuZo – short for Carbon Neutral Business Zone. The logo illustrated the role of the sun in providing energy and the round footprint of the buildings. At this stage the buildings were in the early stages of construction and we were able to use the architectural plans to build computer generated models of the site. This then allowed us to create an animation that showed how the buildings functioned. The communication engagement was key in developing messages and info graphics were created that clearly explained the benefits of these buildings. The units have been designed to retain heat and use the latest technology to preserve natural resources and generate energy from natural sources. As a result, they have been given an A+ energy performance rating, meaning they have a below-zero carbon footprint. That makes them among the greenest commercial buildings in the UK with occupiers enjoying almost zero energy costs. The launch of CaNeBuZo, Lincolnshire’s first carbon neutral business zone, was a great success. Ecobrand worked with Lincolnshire County Council to deliver a truly memorable occasion. The ribbon was cut by Councillor Bill Aron, Chairman of the Council.
